Last year for percentile calculation AP board of intermediate
education considered only second year marks but from this year they will
give consider marks of both years for percentile calculation. As
decided students must be under top 20 percentile only then they will be
eligible for admission to IITs and ISM dhanbad and also CBSE will give
40% weightage to board marks in JEE Main final ranking list.
The weightage policy was announced in the middle of the academic year, and some students had even approached the courts over the issue. Following this, the CBSE considered only the second year marks last year, but from this year they will consider marks of both years.
“Since the students were aware of the weightage policy last year, the CBSE has decided to take into consideration the marks secured in both first and second year exams this year,” Dr Rao said.
