Proposals for an IIT in the State, and the upgrade of Cochin University of Science and Technology into an Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST) are unlikely to materialise, Union Minister of State for Human Resource Development Shashi Tharoor has said.
The Minister told on Monday that as a central university and Indian Institute of Science Education and Research had been sanctioned to the State, approval is unlikely for an IIT too.
