‘Criminal case for dual admission in JAC, CBSE’

Over a decade Jharkhand has reported numerous cases where students fraudulently manage their enrolment in the Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) and Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for Intermediate examination.
To put a ban on such dual admission JAC Chairperson Anand Bhusan announced on Tuesday that the State Government schools would cancel the Transfer Certificate (TC) of student right after taking admission in class XI.

Such parents and students seeking admission with fake TC in any one of these schools would be charged with FIR. Even the Principals taking admission on the basis of fake TC would be counted for this crime offence and a FIR can be lodged against them as well. The results of such students would be cancelled and these students would not be allowed to appear for board exams for a year. This drastic step would be launch at CBSE schools as well.

The Madhyama, Madarsa, Matric and Intermediate exams held under JAC would have Step Marking System. A small committee is working on this. This would help the students in cracking career oriented competitive exams.

These and other academic issues were discussed by JAC Chairperson Dr. Anand Bhusan along the District Education Officers (DEO) and Block Education Extension Officers (BEEO) on Tuesday.

It has been noticed that students at class XI were irregular at classes. To make this attendance strict, 10 per cent marks of class XI will be added in class XII. This would help the students in achieving pass marks if suppose they are on the verge of failing. For inculcating the spirit of nationalism, students of class IX and XI would have classes on ‘Moral Education’.

Online registration for classes IX and XI will be done from coming session. For this Aadhaar numbers of class IX students would be collected.

Speaking about the advantage of JAC meetings Bhusan said, “The presiding of JAC meetings will be sent to State Education department now onwards as solution for many concerned queries. This would include the hurdles faced by the students in preparing domicile certificates. The suggestions on managing teacher in urban and rural areas would also be submitted.”

JAC would frame a committee which would prepare the syllabus of each subject from coming session onwards.

Regional Deputy Director of Education would go for evaluating examinations now onwards instead of JAC officials. If required JAC officials would go after the signature of the JAC secretary.

At present, the Intermediate and Matric students are provided with special classes wherein only few students are turning up.

“JAC was earlier known only as an examining body. Now under the initiation of newly appointed Chairperson Dr. Anand Bhusan the department is working on academic activities as well,” said Officer on Special Duty at JAC PK Choubey.
