Engineering, pharmacy entrance test on May 16

The engineering entrance examination, Maharashtra Technical - Common Entrance Test (MT-CET) would be conducted jointly by the Maharashtra state government and Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) this year.

"The examination will be conducted across eight divisions of the state, Mumbai, Pune, Nashik, Aurangabad, Amravati, Nagpur, Nanded and Kolhapur with the help of competent divisional authorities, sub-division officers, District Liasoning Officers (DLO) and sub-liasoning officers," said Mahesh Shivankar, joint-director, technical education, Aurangabad division.

Shivankar said that these officers have been identified to conduct the state level examination for engineering and pharmacy faculties.

The examination has been scheduled for May 16, 2013 and around three lakh students from the division are expected to appear for the examination. "This is the last time where the entrance examination for engineering and pharmacy will be conducted. A national level examination will be conducted only for engineering faculty from 2014," Shivankar said.

The examination will be called Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) and the course structure and format is in progress.
