Merit list of diploma engineering out

The first merit list of the diploma engineering admissions after SSC was released here on Thursday. Student on top of the merit list has 295 out of 300 marks while the last student who falls in the Physically Handicapped (PH) category has 75 out of 300 marks. There are 126 polytechnic colleges in the state with 66,840 seats for which 87334 students had applied for admissions.

DC Dave of the Diploma Polytechnic Admission Committee (DPAC) said that the 7447 students who had filled the forms for admission have not registered themselves yet, so they have been sent SMS alerts to register for admissions.

Officials said that students whose admissions forms have not been registered can contact the closest helpline centre and register themselves between 11 am to 5 pm on Saturday.

Last time, 750 students who had applied for admissions in degree engineering courses had not registered themselves or were not registered as they had filled incomplete details in the forms. Such students too were alerted through SMS and directed to complete their registrations.

Online counselling for JEE-Advanced

The students who cleared JEE Advanced, the results of which were declared on June 21, are participating in online counselling which is to continue till June 30. The ongoing counselling will give these students an opportunity to lock the course and institutes of their choice. Like every year, this year too the students are showing interest towards subjects like Computer Science, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical and Civil Engineering courses. The demand for dual degree course has also increased among the students.The students are opting mostly for IIT-Mumbai, IIT-Delhi, IIT-Madras, IIT-Kanpur, IIT-Roorkee, IIT-BHU and IIT-Guhawati and IIT-Kharagpur. Thereafter students are giving preference to the other IITs that have been newly constituted including IIT-Gandhinagar, IIT-Mandi, IIT-Ropar to name a few. The seat allotments will be announced on July 2. TNN

The successful students have been asked to visit respective IITs to get their documents verified from July 4 to July 8. After verification the student will be given IITs and courses of their choice.

On the other hand, the students have been asked to report to IITs offered to them on July 20 and 21 and the classes will start from July 27.

Merit marks for engineering admissions out

The Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC) on Tuesday declared the merit marks for admission to different engineering colleges in the state.

The ACPC has also given two more days to students to fill up their choices for the first mock-round of admissions. Earlier the last date was June 26; this has now been extended to June 28.

Officials said that the first student in the merit list has scored 306.26092 marks out of 360 while the student at merit rank 100 has secured 218.86091. Merit marks are essential for students as well as college administrators as the marks will be used to finalize admissions.

To know his merit marks, a student just has to enter either his board seat number or his roll number in the Joint Entrance Examination.

Besides his merit marks, a student would get the name of his board, his Board PCM total, his final merit number, his JEE PCM marks, the calculated PCM board percentile, calculated PCM JEE percentile, normalized HSC percentile marks and normalized JEE percentile mark.

NIT Jaipur Placement Details 2012-13

Due to its centralized location in the city Jaipur, many big National companies/Multi-National companies/PSUs show great interest in recruiting the engineering students from here. In the academic session 2011-12, 104 organizations visited the institute for the recruitment of students and selected 444 students with total offers of 659 out of total 360 eligible candidates. The maximum and average packages offered are 9.88 LPA and 4.44 LPA respectively. Dream Offer option for the placed students at VIT

VIT has introduced a Dream Offer option for the placed students from the academic year 2007-2008. All the placed students may get one more offer from a Core company or a Software company that offered a better package/profile.
