(Mathematics not compulsory for Commerce)
The admission to the Four Year Undergraduate Programme in Commerce will
now be for Bachelor with Honours in Commerce from this year. The admission to this
course will be based on Discipline I (Commerce). Till last year, most colleges were not
accepting students in the Honours Programme of Commerce (B. Com (Honours))
without Mathematics. Cosequently a large number of students who had pursued
commerce without Mathematics in their class 12th were deprived of admission in
different colleges.
It has been now been decided that requirement of Mathematics for all categories
of students be removed for admission to Bachelor with Honours in
Commerce. Therefore, inclusion of Mathematics will not be an additional eligibility
