IIT Bombay placement 2012-13 Overview, 10% increase in offered salaries.

Despite the economic shutdown students of premier institute Indian institute oftechnology are getting bigger pay packages than last year. Reportedly IIT-B’s students have got a 10 per cent jump in offered salaries . Last year, 65 firms offered salary packages of over Rs 9.5 lakh a year, 43 firms offered between Rs 8 lakh and Rs 9.5 lakh and 61 companies offered packages between Rs 5 lakh and Rs 6.5 lakh. This year , the salary packages offered have been higher, said S. K. Mehta, Assistant Placement Officer, IIT-B.
Placement Overview:
240 companies visited the campus in 1st phase of campus placement season
880 students have been placed so far.
600 students are yet to be placed.
More than 100 companies are expected to visit the campus in the ongoing second phase of placements at the IIT-B.
Around 25 per cent of the students did not sit for placements this year.
