CBSE will not publish sample paper for class 11th and 12th from next year

Reportedly central board of secondary education will not publish any sample paper for class XI and XII from next year because many students focus only around topics covered in sample papers and score high marks. CBSE guess because of the sample papers most of the students who try to cover 100% syllabus don’t score high in board exams. CBSE thinks many students are getting top scores in XI and XII without really knowing the complete syllabus. “Students are increasingly getting selective in their studies and the sample papers seem to have been contributing to this. It’s not a healthy academic practice as students need to study in a comprehensive manner. Therefore, the sample papers hence forth will not be available. The board has initiated a number of exam reforms which include higher order thinking skills, value-based questions and open-text based assessment so that the assessment system is enhanced,” said chairman of CBSE, Vineet Joshi. The same issue was discussed in last board meeting of governing body and it was decided that the sample papers will no longer be made available to the senior secondary students.
