By breaking its own record VIT has set a new record in placements this year. Last year VIT set a new record where 3,603 jobs were offered to students of the VIT university. If we look at this year, 2,000 BTech students have received 3,934 job offers in the first session.
While Accenture recruited 1,688 students, Wipro recruited 1,162 and Cognizant selected 1,084 students this year taking the total to 3,934. “Despite the economic downturn we were able to place students in large numbers which shows that companies are looking at quality which we provide. We owe the success to our students,” said a jubilant VIT chancellor, G Viswanathan.
All students have jobs in their hand before completion of their course. This year VIT started placements with dream companies who offered a pay package of 11 lakhs per annum, Flipkart, eBay and Deshaw. Deshaw recruited two students while eBay and Flipkart offered job offers to 15 and 4 students, respectively.
