Reportedly Ministry of Human Resources development is thinking to create a new common Scholastic aptitude Test by merging AIEEE (JEE Main) and Medical Entrance exam NEET.
Speaking at GITAM University, R.P. Sisodia, Joint Secretary, Union HRD Ministry said that a common scholastic aptitute test is on the cards and that though the Centre was mulling over the idea of a common examination, it could not be pushed as education was on the Concurrent List
He said that the existing examinations AIEEE(JEE Main) and NEET are too resitrictive and has short coming and said that once the proposed test is accepted students will be able to take up the career of their choice and excel in it.
He has not made clear as to when the SAT will be implemented and said that it will take some time
