Few girls in Delhi University have reported that some identified person tried to film them while they were using washrooms in college. According to sources some one allegedly tried to film a 25-year-old student on his mobile phone while she was using washroom in the Chemistry Department of Delhi University, police said.
“As per the complainant, when she was inside the washroom, she saw a hand holding a cell phone camera and trying to record the happenings inside. The washroom is a combined one with a wall erected between the boys’ and girls’ bathrooms,” said a police official.
The girl raised an alarm and immediately people gathered at the spot. They knocked on the bathroom door from where the man was allegedly trying to click pictures. When they got no response from inside, they broke open the door but no one was found inside.
An eyewitness said the bathroom had a window that led to a pipe leading to the ground. Some lab attendants reportedly saw a person running away but no one has been identified so far.
This incident took place at around 12.30 pm on yesterday, sparked protest in the university campus in which around 400 students took part.
