Reportedly global slow down doesn’t seem to have any affect on the IIT placements, compared to last year’s 33 students who got directly placed from internship , this year 54 students have received their placement offers even before the placement has started.
Of over 100 students who did internship in various companies, 54 got offers based on their performance. Reportedly qualcomm has offered job to seven students while Samsung, Microsoft and Reliance took four each. Google and American express offered jobs to three students. While the salaries of these job offers varied from 11 LPA to 18 LPA and reportedly a company also offered USD 105 K
“Students go for internship after third year or in mid-fourth year and if the student shows exemplary performance, the company offers him a job. This is how 54 students have received pre-placement offers this year” said Lt Col (Retd) Jayakumar, deputy registrar (students & placement)
