Eleven malpractice cases in COMED-K

Eleven cases of malpractice were detected during the entrance test for undergraduate professional courses at private medical colleges conducted here Sunday, despite stringent measures adopted by the Consortium of medical, engineering and dental colleges of Karnataka (COMED-K).

The authorities of COMED-K have decided to file criminal case against the 11 candidates. An official release sent by COMED-K confirmed that the erring candidates were not allowed to write the test.

The test was conducted at 123 centres across the state, of which 90 were in the city. Over 88,726 candidates registered and 73,650 appeared for the test.

As many as 33,060 candidates appeared for engineering courses, 32,031 for medical and dental courses and 8,559 for both the subjects. The difficulty level was moderate and some questions were tricky and difficult to answer in the given time.

“The physics paper was average and some of the questions were memory-based. The chemistry paper was extremely easy and an average student can easily score 40. The Maths paper was mostly based on the II PU syllabus with only a few questions being difficult. Needless to say, the Biology paper was easy,” said Sridhar, managing director, ACE Creative Learning Pvt Ltd.
