IIT-JEE 2013: Students now need to score 30% more for admission

Now the IIT aspirants will need to score 30% more to get admission to the institute.

The cut-off marks for admissions to Indian Institutes of Technology have been increased due to the top-20 percentile norm introduced by the Centre.

The general category students are required to get over 89.81% in the +2 exams, according to an analysis conducted by the Board of Intermediate Education.

The cut-off for students belonging to the Scheduled Castes was 84.34%, Scheduled Tribes, 85.28 and other categories, 88.30%.

Marks requirement according to the category

General category students- 476 marks out of 530 to qualify for IITs

Scheduled Castes students- 447

Schedule Tribe - 452 for the STs and 468 for other reserved categories
