JEE successful candidates poised for June 2 exam

Central Board of Secondary Education on Tuesday announced the results of joint entrance examination (JEE)- mains. The offline exam was held on April 7 while the computer-based test was conducted from April 9-25.

Though CBSE did not declare the ranks of students, number of marks obtained by a candidate was put on the website. Candidates were also informed whether they qualified for the JEE-Aadvanced to be conducted by Indian Institute of Technology (IITs) on June 2.

The result, however, brought smiles on the face of successful students. Most of the candidates who scored well were happy with the new pattern. According to Saksham Agarwal who obtained 336 marks out of 360, the new pattern is in the interest of the students. "There is ample time to prepare for two exams. In previous years, AIEEE and IIT-JEE were held within a span of three weeks which made it difficult to study,'' he said.
