No more KCET Mess says Karnataka CM

On occation of presenting report card of 100 days of his rule Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that the Government is in process of implementing the provisions of a 2006 law to regulate admissions in Karnataka. If it happens COMEDK might be dissolved by this KCET plan.
Admission to various professional courses in Karnataka could be smoother and transparent from the next year. Also he highlighted the process will also make the professional courses cheaper.
The Karnataka CM said that the government will ensure all the laws are in place before the process of next CET-Common Entrance Test begins. He said they do understand the problems faced by the applicants during admission procedure.
Karnataka has a strong and powerful lobby in education sector which has often influenced the decisions. The CM also said he will ensure no such influence affects the right decisions.
At present, every year government and private colleges decide and reach concensus for fee structure and management quota seats. But if the new process is implemented fee for general merit list candidates and reservation category candidates will be uniform but different for each college.
Also there will be no Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (ComedK) exams or quota.
If the Karnataka CM ensures the provision under under Karnataka Professional Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission and Determination of Fee) Act, 2006 are implemented for the next session of admission, COMEDK exam or quota  might be removed.
