Note: Students are advised to bring their belongings [including bedding, clothing, books etc.] when reporting for admission, as the hostels are allotted immediately and you may find it difficult getting back to your home after admission since you need to be present on campus from 23rd July, 2013 onwards.
When you come to this Institute between 20th and 21st July please report directly at Bhubaneswar Behera Auditorium of the Institute. You will be allotted Hostels after your admission in the Institute. I am sorry to say that we do not have enough acility for the parents to stay on campus. Parents may, however, drop their children in the hostel and return home with confidence. We promise a good social environment for your
child to live and study.
Fee Structure
Please pay the following amount at the time of admission in the form of a bank draft payable at any bank in Rourkela in the name of “Director, NIT Rourkela”. The draft amount is `17,000/- for B. Tech., B.Arch. and 5 years Dual Degree B.Tech & M.Tech programmes. The fees for 5 years integrated M.Sc. programmes is `5,500/- only. This is in addition to the initial deposit of `40,000/- that you have paid at the time of Reporting.
During your studentship, all dues payable to the Institute or to the hostels have to be made through on-line banking. Therefore, it is necessary for you to open an account at any Nationalized Bank (Core banking sector).
Please note that NIT Rourkela is a fully residential Institute and permission to stay outside is granted only in rare cases. Permission from Dean (Academic) needs to be obtained for the purpose of staying outside the hostel. Dean (Academic) should be convinced about the genuineness of the need as well as about the facility available for pursuing studies in the alternative accommodation. Permission to stay outside the hostel may be granted after a student has been admitted to a hall and paid all starting dues. Such students will not be allotted a room, nor will they be required to pay mess dues in future. Their mess advance will be refunded (after adjustment of dues if any) by the Office of the Chief Warden before the end of the first semester
