Choice of IIT top rankers are changing

There is no doubt that to become engineer from Indian Institute of technology Bombay is dream of most of the IIT aspirants and maximum toppers opt for IIT Bombay. But if we look into this year, number of toppers are decreasing in IIT Bombay as compared to last few years.
This year only 67 students under top 100 rankers chose IIT Bombay, last year the number was 77. For IIT Delhi situation is pretty different, 29 candidates chose IIT Delhi as their first preference this year, last year it was 19.
But one plus point for IIT bOmbay is that brightest students are still going for IIT Bombay. First ranker Pallerla Sai Sandeep Reddy and second ranker Addanki Ravichandra, have opted for IIT-B.Leena Madhuri, the second highest ranker among girls, will also go to IIT-B.
Situation was totally different before ten years. 10 years ago IIT-Kanpur was the preferred choice for the Top 100 rankers in JEE. But since 2005, the trend has gradually changed in favour of IIT-B—this year none of the top candidates want to go to IIT-Kanpur.
