JEE-advanced gives tense moments to candidates

As many as 350 students from the city appeared for Joint Entrance Exam (JEE)-advanced at Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, Gill road. The JEE-advanced was for students who had scored 103 marks and above out of 360 in their JEE (Mains) that was held on April 7.

Centre invigilator professor Arvind Dhingra said, "As many as 20 candidates did not appear for the exam."

Change in marking style As there was a change in marking style, some students seemed tense after the exam. Ritish Goyal, who scored 98.6% in CBSE Class 12 exam and 348 marks in JEE mains, expressed the fear saying, "Change in marking style was not expected". There were two types of questions. In questions with single correct option, negative marking was abolished. In other category of questions, negative marking was intensified.

'First session difficult'

Kirandeep Kaur, a student from Aggra Nagar, says she found both the papers a little difficult. "Maths paper was more difficult and half the time I was confused. However, I managed to attempt 90 questions out of 120". Another student Akhil, who attempted 65 questions in total, said he doesn't hope to crack the exam.
