Tips to make good notes for quick revision of subjects

In last time preparation notes are most important thing that you must have. Whenever you read a topic, after completion prepare notes for respective topic (Either in your coaching, school or by self study). Do not delay in making notes, your mind can’t remember all points after sometime. Notes will help you to recall that topic after some time. If you are in class XI now, prepare good notes for each and every topic. It will be very helpful for you when you don’t have time to read them again for entrance exam preparation.
Tips to make good notes:
  • Notes are meant to be short memory joggers! There is no point in simply re-writing your class material . Prepare notes in such a way you can recall all things related to that topic quickly.
  • Keep your notes as brief as possible. One idea is to reduce all your notes into key words .
  • The brain remembers things best by seeing them or storing them in different ways. For example, if you read about the causes of World War I draw them in a diagram and then discuss them with a friend or teacher.  You are more likely to remember what you revise if you are able to articulate what you have learned.
  • Use highlighting pens to colour code your notes.
  • Use Mind Maps, flowcharts, spider diagrams and other visual tools to make your notes more distinctive.
