Lucrative placements have become a hallmark of DTU (formerly known as DCE)

First batch of the Delhi Technological University (after transition of DCE into DTU in 2009) will graduate this year. Currently the institute is offering 15 undergraduate programmes and 18 post-graduate programmes enrolling 6,500 students.

Innovative curriculum, better industry linkages and lucrative placements have become a hallmark of DTU. This year six students of DTU have bagged an annual salary offer of Rs 60 lakh each.
“The biggest advantage that DTU has vis a vis DCE is complete autonomy for academic as well as administrative functioning. We introduced innovative curriculum in DTU which had increased industry relevance and which led to a phenomenal rise in high quality placements,” said vice-chancellor of the university, Professor P. B. Sharma.
“We have built a strong industry interface. We have signed quite a few MoUs with the industry leaders like Samsung Electronics, Intel, Maruti Udyog and Indian Oil. The industry sponsorship for research has gone up to Rs 11.5 crore this year. The total sponsorship by the industry during the time of DCE was Rs 1.25 crore,” Sharma said.
