Uttar Pradesh Technical University issued notification for conducting the state entrance examination 2013 for admissions to engineering and management institutions on Friday. According to UPTU registrar US Tomer, "The state government gave its clearance on Thursday after which the notification was issued."
The application process will be both online and offline for all the courses. The online application process will begin from February 28 from 10.00 am, while the sale of manual application forms will begin on March 1. The last date for filling up the application form is March 21. The university will accept submission of the forms till March 25. The online exam for MBA, MCA will be held on April 20 and 27 and the offline exam for BTech will be held on April 21. Tomer said that through SEE admissions will be done in 1.80 lakh seats in all courses including BTech, BPharma, hotel management, fashion designing and others.
For BTech, candidates will have the option of both online and offline filling up of application forms, the MBA, MCA aspirants will only have the online facility.
The cost of the form is Rs 1,000 for general and OBC students, but for SC/ST and girl students of all categories, the cost is Rs 500. "In order to encourage girls in technical education, the cost of the form is kept half for them," said Tomer.
For the first time, dependants of armed forces belonging to UP domicile, but working anywhere in the country will be given 5% weightage in the admissions. Earlier, only those who were either posted or belonged to UP were given the benefit.
