NIT girls student demand removal of CCTV camaras from Girls Hostel

National institute of technology Warangal claim that the cameras even have their range up to the wash rooms. More than 500 students held a protest in front of the chamber of the institute director on Wednesday demanding immediate removal of closed circuit cameras (CCTV) from the girls’ hostels.
Students sat in front of main entrance of the administration building for more than two hours demanding an assurance from the director T Srinivasa Rao that their demands would be met at the earliest. They demanded that the director should come out from his chamber and listen to their problems.
Finally, though the director Srinivasa Rao called the students council representatives for talks, he did not come out from his office till late in the evening.
NIT director Srinivasa Rao expressed helplessness in getting the CC cameras removed.
