Chennai girl chitra invents low cost plastic to fuel conversion device

Reportedly a chennai girl Chitra Thiyagarajan has invented a device which converts plastic to fuel similar to diesel, after a series of tests in a sustained three year effort.
Apparently a similar device is available in china but the production costs are high and is a time consuming process, but chitra’s device is not expensive and generates fuel in just three hours.
The pyro-plant developed by chitra has two variants where a 5kg unit costs around Rs 75,000 while a 25 Kg variant costs Rs 3 Lakh and each kilogram of plastic produces 800 ml of diesel.
Indian Institute of Technology-Madras chemical engineering professor S Pushpavanam said the invention is feasible and could be used to produce fuel.
