Reportedly this year IITs have restarted the preparatory courses of one year duration for students as all seats were not filled after final round of seat allotment. These seats are for reserved category students only. Also this year IITs have lowered the cut off for all category students.
Few IITTs have outsourced the preparatory course ,
- For IIT-Delhi and IIT-Mandi, IIT Roorkee will conduct preparatory course
- IIT Madras will conduct preparatory course for IIT-Bombay, IIT-Hyderabad and IIT-Gandhinagar.
- IIT-Kharagpur will hold preparatory classes for IIT-Patna and IIT-Bhubaneswar too.
