VIT students forms largest human hand , attempts Guinness world record

Reportedly on monday 3005 students (1,705 men and 1,300 women) of Vellore institute of technology attempted Guinness world record by forming largest human hand in the open ground near the silver jubilee tower at VIT University campus . They dedicated this record to the Delhi rape victim, and also in an attempt to support efforts to mobilise public opinion in favour of women protection.
The attempt was done under the banner Pragathi to beat the previous record attempted by 849 persons in Puerto Rico last year. The VIT team chose the theme “Women Empowerment” to create the record.
“We will be sending the pictures and video to Guinness Book of Records for them to verify and record it. We expect Guinness to send us our record certificate within six months,” Dr G. Viswanathan said.
