MNNIT puts its technologicaladvancements on display

A technical exhibition camp has been set up by the Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology in sector 6 of the KumbhMela area (adjacent to the GangeshwarMahadev police station). The camp has been set up to showcase the technological advancements being carried out at the institute as well as for spreading environment-related awareness during Kumbh. For this purpose, facilities for projection, information dissemination and interactive sessions have been provided in the camp.

The camp was inaugurated by MNNIT director Prof P Chakrabarti on Wednesday evening. He said during the Mela, research will be carried out on environmental and ecological effects of the Kumbh. Researchers from the departments of biotechnology and civil engineering will study phenomena such as the effects of mass bathing on the river ecosystem, the physico-chemical properties of the water, and its related aspects.

Further, students of the masters programme in social work will also participate in the camp, to help spread awareness about cleanliness and safety, and other social awareness activities. Students of MNNIT will also participate in a cleanliness drive on the banks of the Ganga.

Besides the exhibition area, the camp is equipped with three suites, dining hall and community kitchen. It will remain functional till the conclusion of Maha Kumbh.
