36,000 students from Indore to appear for JEE mains

Around 36,000 students from Indore will appear for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) mains on April 7. The number of students, appearing for the mains this year, has increased by 20% in Indore.

"Approximately 20% increase has been observed so far in the number of candidates for JEE (mains)," said JEE Indore coordinator Ashok Sachdeva.

Sachdeva highlighted the change in the pattern of examination which has been instructed by the ministry of human resource and development this year that has resulted in such a high increase in the number of candidates.

"Now there is just one entrance examination in the country through which students can get admission in any engineering college of the country including premier institutes like IIT, NIT so they cannot afford to miss it as it will be the only opportunity for them," he said.

Only three cities of Madhya Pradesh including Indore, Jabalpur and Gwalior will cater as the centre of examination for the offline mode of JEE examination.
