MCA, engineering entrance test process goes online in Rajasthan

Students, mainly from the rural Rajasthan, who often land in trouble by not getting application forms to apply for entrance exams for computer courses, need not to worry now. The reason: They can apply online.

According to officials of the technical education department, nearly 30% students from the rural areas apply for the entrance examination for computer courses. Due to insufficient number of application forms available at public banks in rural areas, they have to either wait or travel to other places to fill and submit the forms.

Meanwhile, the submission of the online application forms for MCA entrance exams will begin on March 11 (Monday) and end on March 21. The candidates will now be able to fill up application forms at their own level by logging on to website after depositing the examination fee either at E-mitra kiosks or common service centres (CSC). The exam will be held on May 12 at five centres of the state. In addition, this year the students without math background will also be able to apply for computer programmes.

“The students will have to fill application forms for entrance exams online. We had tried to implement it last year as well but failed. The online system will help students of the rural Rajasthan to fill the form easily," said SK Bansal, coordinator, Rajasthan MCA Admission Test-2013.

Likewise, the engineering entrance test will also be held in May this year. Informing about schedule, coordinator of Rajasthan Pre Engineering Test 2013, SK Singh said: "The entrance exam for engineering courses will be held on May 23 this year. For this, applications will be received till the first week April."
