Oxygen mask with mike designed by VIT students won 1st price at Innovators conclave.

Reportedly students of Vellore institute of technology designed an oxygen mask with mike attached that will help any patient undergoing oxygen therapy to communicate with others. This model was presented during the three-day conclave organised by the International Consortium for Affordable Medical Technologies (CAMTech) from March 15 at the VIT University and won first price with the cash award of Rs 25,000. Three other teams won the cash price of Rs. 15000.


This mask was designed by a team of 4 VIT students, Rajat,Akshat, Krishna and Karthik all students of electrical and mechanical branches from second and third year of the VIT University under the guidance of Dr Ted Moallem and Dr Data Santorino.
The mask can also be used even in adventurous sport like trekking where the oxygen at the altitude level is low.
