Two Chennai students approached the madras high court against CBSE. They are claiming that they mentioned their category as OBC but someone changed this to General. On this issue CBSE official said, sufficient time had been given to students facing such problems to rectify it.
One of the candidate S Kiran Kumar scored the required cut-off marks in the JEE (Mains) and was selected to appear for JEE (Advanced). “On July 3, when the JEE (Advanced) results were out, I was shocked,” said Kiran Kumar, his voice choking. He said the category had been mentioned as ‘none’. “Later, a teacher in my school said I had been treated as belonging to a forward community. My rank was 1,262,” he added.
When his family tried to talk with CBSE, they were not very supportive with them.
