SC refuse to pass an interim stay on JEE Main counselling

The Supreme Court on Thursday refused to grant a stay on JEE Main counselling process that has already begun. However they said that student admissions under the current rankings put out by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and related authorities is not final until the apex court delivers its final verdict.
This year JEE Main final merit list was prepared on the basis of JEE MAin score and board marks of candidate in XII board exams.ormalisation was used to bring all board on the same platform. The petitioners argued that the process was flawed and unscientific.
Fifty three students/parents moved to Apex court on Tuesday and filed their petition. Supreme court hearing was scheduled for 11th July and is over now. A Supreme Court bench consisting of Justices H.L Dattu and Deepak Misra asked CBSE and the central government to file a counter affidavit in the court within four weeks but they refused to pass interim order on JEE Main counselling process.
