According to sources Rabindra Kumar Roy, a third year mechanical engineering student of Indian institute of technology, Guwahati is missing from Brahmaputra after he went to swim in river. Seven students of the premier institute had gone to the river bank last night and later three of them went to swim in the river.
Local persons requested all of them not to go for swim but they ignored them. Locals rescued two of them but one of them is still missing.
National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) personnel have launched a search operation to find the missing youth, sources said.
