With an all India rank of 50, Arnav Kansal topped the Tricity rank list of Joint Entrance Examination (main) 2013 announced by the Central Board of Secondary Education on Tuesday.
The rank list will decide the admissions of 1.5 lakh student from all over the country and nearly 1,000 students from the Tricity and nearby areas into undergraduate engineering programmes at NIITs, centrally funded and state government technical Institutions.
In the JEE (main) paper, Arnav had scored 310 marks and was the fifth top scorer from the city. In JEE (advanced), Arnav secured the third position in the Tricity with an all India rank of 229.
The rank list was complied after adding the score of JEE (main), declared on May 7, and giving 40% weightage to Class XII board exam results.
Arnav was followed by Abhijit Lavania. Abhijit had topped the city in JEE (main) with 331 marks and was expected to get the rank list as well. He had also topped JEE (advanced) from the city with all India rank of 27.
Third in the line was Shrishti Singla with all India rank of 134 in JEE (main) rank list. She was third in the Tricity even when Class XII marks were not added to her JEE (main) result. She had scored 314 marks. In JEE (advanced), she was sixth in the Tricity with an all India rank of 483.
